about

Ada Jane’s sophomore effort, “Again…Again” takes over where the band left off on it’s debut album, “Never Been Better.” Recorded at Humans Win! with Lance Conrad(of the Alpha Centauri), and with a little help from Chris Koza on keys and Dan Eikmeier on trumpet, Again…Again,” is an authentic hunk of Minneapolis music. Embracing their hometown roots on tracks like, “Sunday’s Best” and “I Just Want You Near” and expanding them on “Down The Highway” and “Found.”

In 2009 “Again…Again” received radio airplay on over 200 radio statios across the US and Canada.

"Again…Again combines all that we love about bona fide Minneapolis rock: sincere lyrics, catchy riffs, potential to disable ears, horns, and enough growl-singing to be convincing without sounding Battle of the Bands. Remember the good days, before musicians went soft and started playing glockenspiels? Ada Jane remembers. One of the stronger tracks, “Down the Highway,” starts with a shade of surf-noir, followed by what can only be described as “prowl pace*,” then come the horns, eventually reaching sticky, messy, oh Lord climax (2:05), finishing with more horns and cuddling. Don’t ask me for a cigarette after, I’m quitting." -review by Lara Crombie @ We♥Music

Track Name: Go
Your first day on the job was your last day on it too.
P.S. you're not missed, but keep sending that money through.
Ta-da. There it appears. Without question you no-show.
Co-signed on a strangers loan that's still got year to go.

The thoughts just stop at midnight but the floors shift and swell.
Feels like the goal is exhaustion and I just can't lay still.
Everything is moving so fast. Pull a disappearing act or....
Light a match with some ill-intent. Lob it up in the air and see where it goes.

Every time I cop a stance someone’s waiting behind me pulling down my pants.
Sealed with a kick in the ass. Underneath the overpass.
I thought there was a moral to this story. Perhaps a moment of glory.
But it’s a deadpan standing O. Shit. Oh my. Oh god. Oh no. No. Go.
Track Name: Down The Highway
Well today they came with the pulleys and the cranes and they carried my home away.
Took a hundred wheels and cables made of steel and machines that looked like men.
Well I’m sorry to say I checked my pockets for change, and I can’t make it out that way.
Got a need to tame and a back to break. There’s just not enough hours in the day.

Got no time to play.
My house is being dragged on down the highway.

Devouring the day-olds. Forgot about the fresh that are ripe and rotting on the vine.
There’s this girl that haunts my head, but I can’t afford to show her a good time.

Got no time to play.
My house is being dragged on down the highway.

Told my doctor my head seems off.
He said wrong doctor buddy. Pull those down and cough
I’m always in the wrong place.
I need to start hittin’ em where they ain’t.
Track Name: Sunday's Best
Stiff and straight and set. Never to move.
Claiming truth truth true. And now claiming you.
Some want. Some want. Some want proof pure.
Their end all’s to be sure.

But I like your question marks. I like your exclamation points.
I like your choice of words and how those words sounds with your voice.

I’m getting so damn tired of the same view.
It’s all routine. Come clean. With everything absolute.
And then slowly slowly slowly blank to bloom.
A stumbling bum consumed.

I like your question marks. I like your exclamation points.
I like your choice of words and how those words sounds with your voice.
I want you to be my Sunday’s rest.
I want you to choose my Sunday’s best.
Track Name: Is That So Wrong
See you at my door. You were nowhere near my neighborhood.
Looking for some late night conversation and looking so good.
Want to put my arms around your waist.
Let you know you’re in the right place.
Is that so wrong?
So hard to be strong.

See you in the morning. I’m a door away wake up call.
And by sleep or by mistake I felt your hand upon mine and time stalled.
Don’t go back to those cold stiff arms.
They don’t hold you right. They keep us apart.
That’s so wrong.

With all this busy-ness.
Just stop by every once and while for a kiss.
That’s alright.
Don’t want to take up your time.
Just want to see your face at the end of each night.
Is that so wrong?
Track Name: Winding Down
I’m giving up on the gold star.
Rehearsals to be myself.
But bowing down I admit.
That I always wanted it.

Is there ever enough?
Contempt for content is all a bluff.
With knives cutting you nose
All you can smell is blood.

You’re winding, you’re winding, you’re winding down.

Need to be the negative, the positive, the opposite.
All on demand.
Need to be the negative, the positive, the opposite.
All of them be damned.

I’m not feeling so hot shit.
My confidence is shot again.
I’ll laugh when I’m ready.
Don’t push me.

I’m winding, I’m winding, I’m winding down.
Track Name: Near Mrs.
If I was a younger man?
Would you kiss my huge cartoon head?
If I was an old old friend?
Would you know that I want you where my arms end?

All those near Mrs.
Could have been kisses.
They could’ve been.
Could’ve been.

Fond regards. Unfashionably yours.
From far too far and close to closed.
Cold as hell or unseasonably warm.
I’ve always go my dancing shoes on and on.

We’ll sway around.
No one will make a sound.
We’ll sway around.

Features you’ll remember on people that you’ll never know.
Details you’ll remember about place that you’ll never go.
Track Name: Small
Everyday life make you feel so small.
Get back upright. Stand up tall.

Too much trash being made for us all.
Gonna burn me a mall.
Gonna burn me a mall.

Boarded up homes all along my block.
There oughta be a law.
There oughta be a law.

Well, I’ve given my best. It’s a rather neat mess. But I just can’t let go.
Your heart gets buried deeper in your chest every time you refuse to show it.

When you’re done blaming me for it all
You can give me a call.
You can give me a call.

I’m a punctured parachute free fall.
In your arms I’m gonna drop.
In your arms I’m gonna drop.
Track Name: Right Wrong
Try it now for no other reason
Cheers to a change in season
Rosy rays of shorter days
Only help to enhance the feeling

Something gained from a new connection
Charms the face in your reflection
Easy as it works you over
You smile in a new direction

Run, run, run away from me
How far will you go to be heard and seen
Run, run, run until it seems
What you left behind wasn't part of the dream

Repelling forces of attraction
Some things I just don't believe in
Tag you're it, I'm tired of it
Mostly fear and self-deception

In the shadow of your memory
Betrayal holds your hand so tightly
Feelings which demand attention
Hold you back until they're set free

Run, run, run away from me
How far will you go to be heard and seen
Run, run, run until it seems
What you left behind wasn't part of the dream

Hey, you know me
I would not stand in your way
Hey, maybe
This will work itself out someday

Can I take this wrong and make it right

Take me down to the water
I would gaze upon the shore
Take me down to the water
I don't want to stand alone

Can I take this wrong and make it right
Track Name: I Just Want You Near
Thinking this a long time through.
Tonight’s the night I tell you.
Get close. Get real close dear,
This something only you should hear.

Come on funny girl make me laugh.
You know how I need that.
You’ve got a comic’s timing and tears.
And I just want you near.

I just want you near.
Come on over here.
Don’t leave me in suspense.
Don’t keep your distance.

You’d be the perfect explosion for this fool.
I’m jangling like the janitors keys for you.
Move your lips and limbs and your life over here.
I just want you near.

I just want you near.
Come on over here.
Move your lips and limbs and your life over here.
I just want you near.
Track Name: What Are You Waiting For
Once he had a lover.
Once he had had a home.
Now he’s buried dead and gone.
Once he had a trust.
Thought he had some control.
Now it’s lost, ugly, and cold.

Who’s next to the floor?
Gun to head. Blood all over.

Once I had another.
Once I had a hope.
Now I don’t invite anyone over.
Once I had neighborhood I could walk through on my own.
Now I don’t go anywhere alone.

Who’s next to the floor?
Gun to head. Blood all over.
Come on. What are you waiting for?
For the poor to kill each other off.

Once I had a love.
Once I had a home.
Now I’m buried dead and gone.
Once I had a neighborhood I could walk through on my own.
Now I don’t go anywhere alone.
Track Name: Found
Running naked in a blizzard in Duluth.
Mugging and waving from my kissing booth.
And not one stare or dollar made.
And not one taker to count.
I’ve made myself so obvious.
And I just want you to..

Come down.
Feel around.
All I ever wanted was to be found.
Come down.
Feel around.
All I ever wanted was to be found.

Hidden under the bed in my room.
In a part of the city.
That no one seems to be passing through.
I fill in all my own blanks.
And bleep my foul mouth.
I’ve kept myself so well hid.
And I just want you to..

Come down.
Feel around.
All I ever wanted was to be found.
Come down.
Feel around.
All I ever wanted was to be found.
